Build-A-Bears:
Students from McGinnis have delivered Build-A-Bears to children battling illnesses during this holiday season. These bears are sure to be a delightful surprise, bringing joy to many upon their arrival. Teacher Josh Reiter organizes each first-grade class to construct bears for children in challenging situations. The first graders take great pleasure in creating and then delivering them, knowing they’re headed to other children and their new homes.
“It was amazing to witness the pride and care that the McGinnis students displayed for the bears they had assembled. Asking after how they would be shipped to ensure they would be safe and undamaged. Checking the name labels were affixed properly so that the end recipient would know who had sent the bear. Some were proud and hopeful that the decorations they created for the box would brighten the day for a girl or boy stranded in a hospital. It was an uplifting experience that fosters hope for the future.”
